Group Health has one of the highest rated Medicare Advantage plans in the country, according to the recently released 2016–2017 Medicare Health Insurance Plan Ratings by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
More than 300 Medicare Advantage plans around the country were reviewed and rated by NCQA, which uses a 5-point rating system to measure how health plans perform in quality areas that include consumer satisfaction, prevention, and treatment.
Our plan was rated 4.5 by NCQA, maintaining our position as a top performer in Washington state and among the top 10 percent of Medicare Advantage plans nationwide.
“Our plan received strong scores on prevention and management of chronic conditions, medication management, and customer service for members in managing their drug plans,” says Rick Henshaw, director, Individual and Family and Medicare Sales. “We’re continuing to strengthen our quality in other areas to enhance customer experience and boost customer satisfaction.”
Group Health’s commercial HMO and PPO plans were also rated by NCQA. Our HMO plan maintained its strong 4.0 rating and our PPO plan improved its rating from 2.5 to 3.5.
The NCQA ratings are based on data and survey results from 2015 and will not be affected by the proposed acquisition of Group Health Cooperative by Kaiser Permanente.
Under a new agreement, NCQA and WebMD are teaming up to publish the ratings. If you have questions, please contact your account executive.
