Kaiser Permanente Washington is experiencing significant enrollment growth in our Small Group line of business, and we’re expanding our team to help ensure a positive experience for new and existing groups. You have a role, too, and that is doing your best to adhere to our cut-off enrollment dates. This helps pave a smooth road to care and coverage for our members.

New staff

We’re proud and pleased to add these two experienced individuals to our Small Group team:

  • Cooper Biddiscombe was an integral part of our team a couple of years ago. He’s back in our Seattle office as an account manager, and has hit the ground running without skipping a beat in service to you and our mutual clients.
  • Janelle Shumway is a new account specialist in our Spokane office. She comes to Small Group from our Member Services team and has a strong background in insurance sales and processes.

Here’s a list of our team and contact information.

Cut-off dates

Small Group cut-off dates exist to ensure we can meet the needs of the employers and employees we serve. These dates give our teams the necessary amount of time to get a group’s information into our system. And that, in turn, helps ensure our members are able to access care and coverage by the group’s effective date.

  • New groups: Materials must be received by the 20th of the month for coverage effective the first day of the following month.
  • Renewing groups: Materials must be received by the 10th of the month preceding the renewal date.

The goal of meeting our cut-off dates is to make sure members have their ID cards in time for their group’s effective date. ”It’s about giving our mutual clients and members the best customer experience from the start.” says Kelly Chrisman, director, Small Group.
